  1. Read 2 Corinthians 2:12-17 Paul compares his life and work to a Roman triumphal procession, where the defeated captives are being led by the victor with incense burners. Who leads this procession and what is the aroma they spread?
  2. How do people respond to the aroma of the gospel in our world today? Why do some people reject the message of Christianity?  Why do many find it life giving?
  3. In 2 Corinthians 2:16 Paul asks “who is up to the task?” Are we trained to be humble or bold with the gospel? What thinking do we as Christians need to overcome to be the aroma of Christ in our world?
  4. What difference does Paul make between the old and new covenant?  What difference does Paul make between Moses and Jesus?
  5. What does Paul tell us in chapter 3 about the Holy Spirit? Why is the Spirit of the Lord freedom (3:17)?
  6. Application- what do people in our world think is freedom? How does the message of freedom in 2 Corinthians 3:17 transform people?
