Guide to living in hope studies

Guide to living in hope series

The studies that will be posted on this blog each week are a resource and are meant to be used flexibly. This guide will help in enabling your small group to have a refreshing journey through 1 Peter.

“I” Exercises

These questions are designed to help you to get into the key focus of the forthcoming study. They are ice breakers and will hopefully help everyone to get talking. Try not to get bogged down on them.

At First Glance

These questions help you to look at the passage and to work your way through it. There are some notes at the end of this booklet that deal with some of the more difficult terms and ideas.

A Closer Look

These questions take the conversation further and begin to think about the application to our lives.

Looking at Me

This section allows for honest conversation about the implications of the passage for our lives personally and as a faith community.

Curly Questions

These seek to be provocative. You may want to discuss them, or you can choose to skip them.

Pray Together

This is an important part of any small group gathering.

Be Flexible

It is important to realise that the aim isn’t to answer all of the questions! As you move through each study, you’ll notice the questions become deeper, more open ended and more challenging. Hopefully this will help you to be as flexible as appropriate for your group.
