Luke 23-24 | Easter

Luke 23-24 | Easter

*Reflect on Easter and what it has meant for you this year

*If you participated in one or all of our Easter Services what stood out for you?

*How do you find the contrast between the solemnity of Good Friday and the joy of Easter Sunday?

Read Luke 23.44-56

  1. What strikes you from these climactic scenes?
  2. How do you understand the amazing phenomena that accompanied Jesus death?
  3. How do you respond to Jesus last words?
  4. Reflect on the three different ways that people responded to his death?
  5. Joseph's actions were an out working of his faith. What insight do we get into this?
  6. The women are present and they themselves play their part? Do you find it encouraging to see the faith and care of these women?

Read Luke 24.1-12

  1. The women now go to the tomb. What happens?
  2. How do the angels help the women to understand what has happened?
  3. Why do you think Luke tells us who these women were?
  4. Is the reaction of the men typical or was it understandable in the context?
  5. In the end the women have clear insight into what has taken place and Peter is left pondering. Perhaps this reflects the mystery of this unique event. In one sense it was absolutely clear cut and yet in other ways it was hard to grasp and understand. What do you think?

Read 1 Peter 1.3-5

* Praise God for Jesus resurrection and our resurrection. Reflect on what this means for each of us today and in the future.
